Puerto Morelos municipal government is working to improve infrastructure and public services in town and the surrounding area. This includes installing LED street lights along José María Morelos Avenue from the highway into the main square, moving power cables underground, paving streets, reforestation and designating parks in residential areas.
Other projects include improving the water, sewage and garbage collection systems, installing traffic signs and conservation of the mangrove forest.
