We have some great news for you about Puerto Morelos! After a year of construction, the central square is now open! The new-look plaza or Parque Fundadores, dedicated to the original founders of Puerto Morelos, was inaugurated on May 19. It has a traditional Mexican-style kiosko or pavilion, a stage for live music and events, a children’s play area, pergolas, planters, palm trees and ceibas or sacred Maya trees to give shade. It is the perfect place to sit for a while and enjoy an ice cream, the sea views and life in Puerto Morelos.
