The countdown has begun to your next vacation and if you and your family are joining us in the next couple of months, there’s plenty of summer fun in store.

First on your list will be to relax on the beach and let the warm sun, the soft breeze and the breathtaking views of the Caribbean lull you into a slower pace so that you are ready to really enjoy the Riviera Maya.

Make your way to the infinity pool or family pool and the Pool Concierge will escort you to your favorite sun bed and keep the cocktails, fruit snacks, popsicles and refreshing Evian spray coming during the day. There’s even lunchtime live guitar and saxophone at the weekends.

Stay in shape during your vacation at the 24-hour gym and by challenging your fellow guests or the tennis Pro to a set or two on the tennis courts. Go for a run along the beach, sign up for the bike trip into Puerto Morelos or plan a round of golf. You can also attend the yoga, stretching, zumba and aqua fitness sessions in the morning and don’t forget the pool and beach volleyball in the afternoon. After a day of exercise, a massage at the Spa is the perfect way to ease tired muscles.

Call in at the Activities Center to see what else the Activity Team has lined up for you for a fun-packed vacation. Learn Spanish or fine-tune your salsa steps, play table tennis, card games, bingo or Mexican lottery and take part in poolside music and movie quizzes.

Sign up for a pottery painting workshop, a master class with Chef Yann Cozic on Wednesday or a cocktail class on Thursday. Make your reservation for afternoon tea on the terrace at 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday or for the weekly sunset catamaran cruise (children under the age of 10 are not permitted on the cruise).

For more watery fun, take the plunge and discover the wonders of the Mesoamerican Reef, the world’s second largest coral system, on a snorkeling or diving tour. You can start right here in Puerto Morelos National Marine Park and then go further afield to Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Pamuul, the Puerto Aventuras area, Akumal, Xel-Ha and the island of Cozumel.

When you are ready to go exploring on dry land, your Concierge can help you put together an incredible sightseeing itinerary. Your options include the Riviera Maya’s famous nature and adventure parks, cenotes, caves and biosphere reserves teeming with wildlife. If you are a history buff, the area is dotted with ancient Mayan temples and pyramids. Spend the day in picturesque colonial towns full of churches and mansions dating from the 16th century, and visit the grand old haciendas and traditional Mayan communities of the Yucatan.

Activities for the little ones

Your children will have so much fun at the Kids Club that they won’t want to leave. Activities for children aged 4 to 12 years include jenga, stretching, sand castle building, water polo, races and a water balloon battle. Art sessions range from coloring and t-shirt painting to piñata making and using plastic bottles to create a turtle. They can design their own pirate hats for a treasure hunt and the nature walk with staff to see the iguanas is a favorite. Quizzes, bingo, Lego, face painting, Uno, Just Dance and more will keep them entertained and they’ll make new friends too.

Teens can play volleyball, soccer, table tennis and video games and there’s a family movie night every Tuesday.

Ask your Concierge for the current activity schedule for adults and children and contact the Concierge Desk whenever you need assistance with planning your vacation activities this summer.
