New Planetarium for Cozumel
The island of Cozumel will soon have its own Planetarium for budding astronomers to visit, joining the popular Ka Y’ok Planetarium in Cancun and Yook’ ol Kaab in Chetumal. The Cozumel building will be known as Cha’an Ka’an, which means: “observe the sky” in Maya.
Momentos Sagrados Mayas Community Theater in X’ocen

Carnival Time
The Yucatan Peninsula plays host to several important Carnivals this February. The oldest in the Mexican Caribbean is Cozumel Carnival, which is 139 years old and the first Chetumal Carnival was held in 1912. The Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos Carnivals are much more recent but celebrated with no less enthusiasm.
