Grand Residences News
Here’s our round up of news from your resort, new dining ideas, activities and more.
Preparing for sea turtle season
The Grand Residences security team is getting ready for the sea turtle nesting season which begins in May. Before the season starts, local biologists give them a refresher course on turtles, biology and how to identify the different species, and go over the nesting season rules.
During their nightly patrols of the beach during the summer, our security guards coordinate with the biologists who monitor the shoreline as far as Punta Brava, informing them when a turtle comes ashore to lay her eggs. The biologists then tag the nest and move the eggs to a corral.
Wine o’clock
Any time is wine time and the Grand Residences Food & beverage team have another gourmet experience for you to enjoy during your vacation. With Wine o’clock, you can explore the world of wine with Sommelier Laura Sánchez and taste exciting new wines.
A variety of Wine o’clock experiences are planned over the coming months including invitation-only tastings with food to tempt the senses, wine tastings, blind tastings, visits by wine company representatives with tastings of wines in their collections, show cooking, flambées and exclusive wine pairing dinners.
During Wine o’clock events, the Sommelier will also be presenting the 2024 wine list featuring all the Grand Residences favorites and a selection of different wines to try from Europe, the Americas and Oceania. We hope you enjoy them when you dine at El Faro Grill or Flor de Canela.

Once you arrive in Puerto Morelos, there will be time to stroll through the square and along the waterfront, shop for handicrafts and enjoy an ice cream. This activity is very popular so be sure to make your reservation with your Concierge.
For more exercise options, the resort offers yoga, tennis courts and a 24-hour gym. If you are a golfer, book tee times for play at three of the Mexican Caribbean’s leading courses: El Camaleon at Mayakoba, Gran Coyote at Corasol and Puerto Cancun, all designed by PGA legends Greg Norman, Nick Price and Tom Weiskopf. You are entitled to a special discounted rate and your Concierge can help you make reservations.
