More improvements in the Immigration process at Cancun Airport

Cancun International Airport now has 14 automated terminals in the Immigration Hall in Terminal 3 for passengers arriving from the United States and Canada and Mexican citizens arriving from both countries who have electronic passports. To use the scanners, passengers must be 18 or over and have a passport with a chip that is valid for at least six months. Immigration staff are on hand to help passengers with the process. This will speed up entry to the country and reduce the wait lines for passengers who do not have electronic passports.

In the next few weeks, four more of these digital scanners will be added in Terminal 4 and the technology will eventually be expanded to Terminal 2.
