Splash time!

As the temperatures sizzle in the Mexican Caribbean, there’s only one place to be, in the water. The reefs in the Puerto Morelos National Marine Park are only a short boat ride away and you’ll soon be immersed in a wonderful world of coral columns and buttresses, gardens of sea fans swaying in the current and myriad fish of all shapes and sizes in shimmering colors.

If you fall in love with the underwater world, you can learn how to scuba dive during your stay. Resort courses are available at the nearby marina, and you’ll soon be ready to explore reefs in deeper water in the Puerto Morelos area, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Akumal or Cozumel and witness even more wonders.

Combine your splash time with sailing. Board a catamaran for a voyage along the Riviera Maya shoreline or in the bay between Cancun and Isla Mujeres. Swimming and snorkeling are the order of the day and there’s plenty of time to relax on the deck and enjoy our Caribbean colors.

If you can tear yourself away from the beach and the sound of the waves, swap them for the jungle shade and the clear waters of a cenote or sinkhole. The water is always cool as it comes from underground rivers deep in the limestone, a welcome respite from the summer heat. The Ruta de Los Cenotes is a good place to start your cenote discovery and you’ll soon find your favorites in the area, further afield in the Riviera Maya and Yucatan.
