From new dishes on the menu in El Faro Grill, Flor de Canela and Heaven Beach Bar for you to try to monthly chef’s specials from all over Mexico, theme nights and the Italian dining experience in the evenings on the Lobby Bar & Café terrace, there’s always something delicious in store for you at Grand Residences.

If you are planning to have dinner in Flor de Canela on your next visit, be sure to try the filete Azteca, tender beef with Oaxaca cheese au gratin, nopales and mild pasilla chili or the flavorful lamb fillet in almond sauce. Mole fans will want to sample an interesting recipe with chicken breast in a sauce that blends almonds, pine nuts and white chocolate. If you enjoy pork, don’t miss the cochinita pibil, Yucatecan roast pork, which is marinated in achiote and Seville orange juice, wrapped in banana leaves and slow cooked. In Maya villages it is traditionally prepared in a pib or cooking pit and it is always served with tortillas, xnipek habanero chili sauce and pickled red onion.

You can try another Yucatecan classic at Heaven, Sikil Pak is a tasty dip made from roasted tomato, onion and ground pumpkin seeds flavored with coriander and lime juice and served with tortilla chips. Other new dishes at your favorite beach bar include quesadillas, salads and the castacán and octopus tacos (see recipe in this newsletter).

Chef Guido de la Mora and his team have also added breakfast dishes to the menu at El Faro Grill and more in-room dining options if you decide to order from Room Service. Finally, during your stay, you’ll want to try this Italian Mexican fusion: fresh fettuccine made with cacao and tossed in a gorgonzola and walnut sauce.

Order seafood when dining at our restaurants; the fish, shrimp and lobster are all supremely fresh and superbly flavored. Start with shrimp tacos for lunch served up with a splendid view at Heaven Beach Bar. Try the Caribbean lobster and ceviche, aguachile and fish cooked to traditional recipes at Flor de Canela and Mediterranean and Pacific coast inspired dishes at El Faro Grill, whatever your choices, a seafood feast awaits you.
