Wine of the Month
If you are looking for Mexican wines to try, here’s this month’s recommendation from Javier Moreno.
Pedregal Vinisterra 2014, Mexico
San Antonio de las Minas, Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California
Grape varieties: Syrah, Mouvèdre, harvest 2014
An elegant dark ruby red wine with all the fragrance and flavors of cherry, blackcurrant and plums, notes of anise and ginger, a hint of tobacco and earthy notes like graphite. The fruit flavors burst on the palate. This is a wine with a balance between acidity and tannins with a lingering aftertaste with notes of dark chocolate and wood tar.
Serve with dishes with herby sauces, mushroom risotto, game, lamb and steaks.
