In recognition of its work in turtle protection, conservation and towards achieving sustainable development, Puerto Morelos municipal district received the Distintivo S from the Mexican Tourism Board. The Puerto Morelos delegation received the award at the Tianguis Turistico Travel Show in Mazatlan in April.
