Chef Yann Cozic and his team have some tempting treats in store for you and your family on your next trip. Dine a la carte in El Faro Grill, Flor de Canela and Heaven Beach Bar and don’t miss the theme nights during the week with more delicious options.

The Beach BBQ at Heaven Beach Bar on Sunday is an excellent way to start your vacation and slip into the Riviera Maya mood. Enjoy grilled steak, fish, ribs, burgers and live music under the stars.

Monday night is Italian night at El Faro. After a salad, soup or Italian cheeses and charcuterie, you are ready for your main course and there are plenty of traditional dishes to try. The buffet features Beef in Barolo Sauce, Mediterranean-style swordfish, Eggplant Parmesan, lasagna, cannelloni and calzone or watch the chef prepare your pasta or risotto to order and combine it with your favorite sauce.

Be sure to save space for dessert, there’s everything from creamy tiramisu to mocha, ricotta tart and red berry and mascarpone mille-feuille.

El Faro is closed on Tuesday so this might be a great night to satisfy your cravings for Mexican food in Flor de Canela. Order tacos or fresh seafood and try some of the superbly flavored dishes that have earned Mexico a World Heritage listing for its cuisine. There’s live music, Mexican of course, performed by a group called Cielito Lindo!

It’s back to Heaven Beach Bar on Wednesday for Argentinian Night, a must for all steak lovers. Try the freshly baked empanadas with chimichurri sauce for starters. Main courses include different cuts of beef grilled to perfection, Argentinian chorizo and chistorra sausage, chicken or fresh tuna served with your choice of side dishes (creamed spinach, steamed vegetables, mashed potato or mixed salad).

On Thursday night get ready for a true celebration of fresh seafood. The Seafood Night buffet features ceviche and shrimp cocktail, oysters, chocolate clams and shrimp to peel. Help yourself to octopus, shrimp or Baja-style fish tacos, a salad or enjoy a bowl of lobster bisque or clam chowder. Main course options range from paella and grilled lobster to tropical shrimp in coconut and mango sauce. There’s Mediterranean-style tuna, salmon and leek in puff pastry, grouper meuniere, and mussel, coconut and ginger curry with basmati rice. As an alternative, watch as the chef cooks your choice of seafood, pasta and sauce to order.

Tempting desserts include passion fruit mousse, lemon cake, Breton shortbread with strawberries and pistachios. Enjoy live music during the evening by the Jeriko duet

Chef Yann goes back to his roots on Friday for French Night and there are some mouthwatering delights to sample on the special a la carte menu. Begin with classic onion soup or vichyssoise with smoked salmon, foie gras or brie cheese croquette with rosemary honey, apple and beet salad. Main course options include the hearty bouillabaisse seafood soup, European sea bass, veal chop Forestiere, Beef fillet in Green peppercorn sauce, duck confit or chicken chartreuse. As the perfect finishing touch to your meal, the chocolate crème brûlée is sublime and other choices include Pear Belle Hélene, Black Forest Gateau and Gateau Saint Honoré.

Asian Night at El Faro Grill on Saturday will take you on a culinary journey to the Far East with a selection of delicious dishes from China, Japan, Thailand and India. Start with fresh sushi, shrimp spring rolls or a tangy Thai salad. Main course dishes range from sweet and sour chicken, lobster chow mein and shrimp in coconut, lemon grass and ginger sauce to steamed grouper with spicy Nam Pla sauce. You can also order your favorite stir-fry combination from the wok station or fresh tempura. Desserts include tropical fruit, yuzu tart and lychee cake.

This is a sampling of the show stopping dishes on offer to whet your appetite for your next Grand Residences gourmet experience. Dishes on the buffets may change but whatever the evening, they are sure to be delicious.

 

 

More dining delights to look out for

Join us for tea on the Lobby Bar terrace on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4 p.m. (reservations required) and for the Manager’s Cocktail on Monday at 5 p.m. There’s a cooking class with Chef Yann in El Faro Grill on Wednesday morning at 12 p.m. and a cocktail class at Heaven Beach Bar on Thursday at 12 p.m. The sunset catamaran cruise departs at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and there is live jazz and soul music in the lobby bar on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Happy Hour is from 3 to 5 p.m. at the beach and pool bars and from 7 to 9 p.m. in the lobby bar. Room Service is available 24 hours.
