The Puerto Morelos municipal government launched its regular beach cleaning campaign and in the first days of January had already removed five tons of garbage and seaweed from the shoreline. An additional beach cleaning day took place at the end of the month.
The goal of the authorities is to attain the prized international Blue Flag clean beach certification for Puerto’s beautiful beaches this year.
