The latest flight update includes the news that Mexican airline Volaris will launch several routes in the Maya World in June, making travel between major cities and attractions in southeast Mexico and Central America much easier. The new routes are Guatemala City to Cancun, Villahermosa-Cancun and Tuxtla Gutierrez-Cancun. On July 2, it will also begin flying to the city of San Juan in Puerto Rico, an important hub in the Caribbean.

Also in July, TAM will start direct flights from Sao Paulo in Brazil to Cancun twice a week. Other new flights linking Latin American capitals with Cancun were announced by Avianca, which will now be operating three flights a week from Lima, Peru and Aerolineas Argentinas with a Cordoba-Cancun service scheduled to start in January and February 2016.

On October 15, Southwest Airlines will be flying from Houston to Cancun and the Sunwing travel company will launch a new direct service from Windsor, Ontario to Cancun on December 21.
